A survey conducted by the Finnish International Post Company found that the country with the most online purchases in the past year was China (40%), followed by Germany (37%), Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States. Especially during the peak season at the end of the year, e-commerce business grew significantly, with Finland Post delivering nearly 7 million parcels. Affected by the EU VAT policy changes in 2021, Finns have reduced their purchases of goods outside the EU. But in 2023, China will become the country where Finns shop the most online. Before the pandemic, Finnish consumers were known for frequent cross-border shopping.
